Dr Silvia Montigiani

Dr Silvia Montigiani is currently Development Project Manager for the Meningitis franchise of Novartis, the world-wide pharmaceuticals group. Over the past fifteen years, she has led key research projects at Chiron, Emeryville for the development of new paediatric vaccines, and has also served as a Research Fellow at the Medical Research Council, Cambridge, UK and at the Institute for Cancer Research in Marburg, Germany.

Dr Montigiani holds a bachelors degree from the University of Siena and a PhD from the Philipps Marburg Universitaet, Germany.

Dr Montigiani has a long-standing interest in music, having studied cello and piano at the “Istituto di parificato” R. Franci, Siena with a particular emphasis on Baroque music.
