Student Life

The master class week at Montisi begins on Sunday evening with a group ‘welcome dinner’ for orientation and to allow participants to meet the Piccola Accademia staff and each other. The rhythm of each week will be set by the individual master class teachers, but generally classes will take place in the morning, with afternoons for practice and study. Evenings are available for performance and socialising. The master class week ends Friday afternoon with group drinks and an opportunity to provide valuable feedback to Piccola Accademia staff to help us refine and improve the overall Piccola Accademia experience.

Montisi is a compact and easy to manage environment once you’ve arrived. Within the village there are two restaurants, da Roberto's Taverna in Montisi (www.tavernamontisi.com) and La Romita (www.laromita.net), as well as a café for lunches and a bar for morning coffee and drinks, with other choices available in neighbouring villages. There are two small ‘alimentari’ (food shops), a post office and a bank with cash machine all within metres of the Piccola Accademia’s home, the Castello di Montisi. While Piccola Accademia has a van for group student travel, students wishing to explore the Tuscan countryside may wish to rent a car.

To provide a choice of affordable student housing, Piccola Accademia has negotiated special student rates for a number of rooms within Montisi. Students should book directly with their chosen hotel or room after class registration is confirmed.
