17th century italian harpsichord music
From Picchi and Frescobaldi to Storace and Pasquini

The course will predominantly treat aspects of rhythm and tempo - declamation in Toccatas, "swing" in passamezzi passagaglias and ciaconas , period fingering, touch and the art of arpeggiation and, last but not least, the interaction between solo harpsichord music and continuo realization in early italian baroque.
