Lucia Napoli

Lucia Napoli, after her violin and singing studies, winner of the first prizes of singing competitions in Cagli, Naples (Pietà dei Turchini) and Clermont-Ferrand, she is now appreciated performer of baroque repertoire. Recently she sang solo parts in Bach’s lutheran Masses, St.Matthew Passion and sacred cantatas under the direction of Gustav Leonhardt and Michael Radulescu, psalms by Vivaldi under Christopher Hogwood, Monteverdi’s Vespers undr Roberto Gini. Moreover she sang baroque opera roles such as Speranza and Poppea (“Orfeo” e “L’incoronazione di Poppea”-C.Monteverdi), Dido (“Dido and Aeneas” di Purcell), Junon (“Actéon” di Charpentier) at Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Festival of Sablè-sur-Sarthe, Teatro lirico in Cagli, Teatro Cetinje in Montenegro ecc. She collaborates with Concerto Vocale in Gent under Philippe Herrewege, La Venexiana and L’Arte dell’Arco. With Francesco Cera and the Ensemble Arte Musica she performed madrigals by Luzzaschi written for the Concerto delle Dame in Ferrara at the Music Festival in Montisi and at the Konzerthaus in Vienna. She is also performing belcanto repertoire: in the season 2010 of the Centre Lyrique Clermont-Auvergne she will sing the opera “La cambiale di matrimonio” by Rossini and a recital of solo arias. She recorded motets by Giovanni Paolo Colonna for Tactus and madrigals by Luzzaschi for ORF Alte Musik.
